The Grabber Arctic LT is General Tire's Light Truck/SUV Studdable Winter / Snow tire developed for the drivers of heavy-duty pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles, full-size vans and commercial vehicles looking for traction on winter's slushy, snow-covered and icy roads. Designed to offer traction in near- and below-freezing temperatures, Grabber Arctic LT winter tires are available in heavy-duty Load Range E sizes and molded to accommodate optional metal studs.Grabber Arctic LT tires feature a robust cut- and chip-resistant winter compound that maintains flexibility in freezing temperatures. This compound is molded into a broad, symmetric tread design featuring two rows of interlocking center blocks flanked by independent intermediate blocks and squared-off shoulders. The intermediate and shoulder blocks feature reinforcing buttresses on their sides, and the shoulder blocks are circumferentially connected by stepped reinforcement bars to improve handling and braking in all weather conditions. Angled interlocking light truck winter sipes combine dry and wet performance with snow-biting surface edges. Tread block buttresses, stepped reinforcement bars and bottom-of-groove snow traction ridges all work together to increase three-dimensional traction in deep snow. Alternating rows of optional metal studs can be inserted into the shoulder and intermediate tread blocks to increase traction on hard packed snow and icy roads. The Grabber Arctic LT tire's wide, flat footprint is supported by ultra-high-strength steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon to deliver exceptional penetration resistance and even footprint pressure for excellent braking and confident stability under all approved load conditions.
