Cooper's Even Wear Arc Technology optimizes the shape of the footprint for balanced pressure at the contact patch, improving handling and promoting even treadwear. The tread pattern is designed to aid dry traction, while Whisper Grooves between the outboard tread blocks help reduce noise throughout the tire's life. Stone ejector ledges help prevent punctures due to stone drilling, and the Rugged Traction Shoulders feature alternating scoop and cleat lugs and biting edges designed for grip on rock, in thick mud or loose soil. Deep, circumferential channels and wide, lateral notches improve hydroplaning resistance, while multiple zigzag sipes in the independent tread blocks create the biting edges needed for traction in slippery conditions. Snow Groove Technology uses saw-tooth block edges to trap snow in the tread for effective snow-to-snow traction.The internal construction of the Discoverer AT3XLT consists of a robust, two-ply polyester casing.
