The CS5 Grand Touring is Cooper's Standard Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans and crossovers looking to combine a comfortable ride and stable handling with confident traction in all weather conditions, even in light snow.The CS5 Grand Touring utilizes a Coupled Silica compound molded into an asymmetric pattern, allowing side-to-side rotation patterns to combat uneven wear. The outboard shoulder features larger tread blocks and less void area for lateral traction and handling, and the ribs and inboard shoulder utilize higher sipe density, lateral grooves and more open space to aid wet traction and hydroplaning resistance. Full-depth 3D Micro-Gauge siping throughout the footprint creates the biting edges needed for grip in low-friction surfaces, such as light snow.Internal construction of the CS5 Grand Touring consists of a high-turnup, single ply polyester casing beneath two high-strength, steel belts. A spirally wound, nylon reinforcement increases handling responsiveness and aids high-speed durability.
