W.drive ZPS

Sold out

The W.drive ZPS is Yokohama's Performance Winter / Snow tire designed to provide temporary self-supporting run-flat mobility in the case of complete air loss due to a puncture while driving. The W.drive ZPS was developed to deliver confidence, no matter the weather, for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes, high-performance sedans and SUVs who expect to encounter freezing temperatures, slush, snow and icy conditions. The W.drive ZPS utilizes a winter-focused Micro Silica compound with specialized polymers designed to remain flexible through a wide range of temperatures and conditions. The asymmetric tread pattern features wide and rigid outboard tread blocks to provide high-speed handling capability, and the center and inside tread blocks feature greater flexibility and more void area to aid traction in wet or snowy conditions. The three wide, circumferential grooves and the high-drainage, lateral slush grooves combine to evacuate standing water and slush from the contact patch. 3D zigzag sipes maintain block rigidity while providing the biting edges needed for traction in wet, snowy or icy conditions.Internal construction of the W.drive ZPS consists of a two-ply polyester casing to help maintain the balance between ride and handling. Two wide, steel belts are reinforced with jointless nylon belt edge strips to provide high speed durability, and Yokohama's ZPS sidewall reinforcement can temporarily support the vehicle's weight, even after a puncture allows a complete loss of air pressure.W.drive ZPS winter radials meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.Note: Snow platform indicators (the equivalent of "snow wear bars") are molded into the W.drive ZPS' tread grooves to inform the driver when ice and snow traction will be reduced as the tire's tread reaches the point where the remaining tread depth becomes less effective in deep snow.Install W.drive ZPS tires in sets of four only.
