Sportrac 5

Sold out

The Sportrac 5 is Vredestein's High Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of sports cars, sporty coupe and performance sedans looking for a quiet, comfortable tire with responsive handling in the wet and dry. Like all High Performance Summer tires, the Sportrac 5 is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near- and below-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.Sportrac 5 tires mold a grippy, summer-only compound into a Giugiaro-styled, asymmetric tread pattern designed for low noise and optimized performance in both dry and wet conditions. The low-void, outboard shoulder features wide blocks for enhanced longitudinal grip in the dry, while the center of the tread and inside shoulder utilize more siping and lateral notches for wet traction. Four deep, circumferential grooves evacuate water from the footprint to aid hydroplaning resistance where standing water is present. The internal structure of the Sportrac 5 features a Handling Tuned Sidewall design engineered to deliver athletic handling and responsive steering and utilizes a one- or two-ply casing constructed of polyester or rayon (ply count and casing material varies based on size) for supporting two wide, steel belts.Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels, or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.Flexing of the specialized rubber compounds used in High Performance Summer tires during cold-weather use can result in irreversible compound cracking. While compound cracking is not a warrantable condition because it occurs as the result of improper use or storage, tires exhibiting compound cracking must be replaced.
