The Ventus S1 evo2 SUV (K117A) is Hankook's Street/Sport Truck Summer tire developed for the drivers of high performance luxury SUVs and crossover vehicles. Designed to deliver Hankook's ultimate balance of summer performance for light trucks, Ventus S1 evo2 SUV tires enhance braking and cornering performance in warm, dry and wet conditions. However, like all summer tires, they are not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.Ventus S1 evo2 SUV tires feature a silica enhanced tread compound incorporating a high styrene polymer to improve wet braking performance and an optimized cross-linking system to improve the tire’s wear performance and reduce rolling resistance to promote vehicle fuel economy. This compound is molded into an asymmetric tread design featuring notched outboard shoulders and continuous outboard ribs to enhance handling response and cornering stability while inboard independent tread blocks promote wet traction. The staircase design of the edge of the outboard intermediate rib increases the tire's contact with the road as the tire wears. Twin ridges in the bottom of the three inboard circumferential grooves dissipate heat at high speeds, as well as help direct water flow from under the tire's contact patch. Four wide main circumferential grooves help resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction.The tire's internal structure includes two wide steel belts reinforced with spirally wrapped nylon to blend steering stability and handling with durability and braking performance. High density casing plies and a high stiffness bead filler enhance sidewall stiffness and durability.
