The Ultra Grip Performance 2 RunOnFlat is a Goodyear Performance Winter / Snow run-flat tire developed in Europe for the drivers of sport cars, coupes, sedans and crossovers looking for enhanced traction in a variety of winter driving conditions. In addition to providing temporary extended mobility in the event a puncture allows complete air pressure loss, the Ultra Grip Performance 2 RunOnFlat is designed to blend dry and wet road handling in cold weather with traction in slush, snow and on ice. Goodyear RunOnFlat (ROF) tires incorporate special sidewall reinforcements that support the weight of the vehicle even after sustaining air pressure losses that would render conventional tires immobile. While internal tire damage will likely make replacement necessary, ROF tires are designed to endure being run on while flat for up to 50 miles at speeds up to 50 mph and provide drivers the temporary extended mobility necessary to drive through stormy weather and away from dangerous situations. ROF tires are only recommended for vehicles originally equipped with self-supporting run-flat tires and a tire pressure monitoring system. The Ultra Grip Performance 2 ROF uses a tread compound that combines an optimized blend of polymers and advanced silica technology to maintain flexibility at low temperatures for enhanced traction on dry and wet roads, as well as on snow-covered and icy surfaces. The compound is molded into a directional tread design featuring Hydrodynamic V grooves that help evacuate water and slush while saw-tooth shaped circumferential intermediate grooves enhance snow traction. Goodyear's Adaptive SipeGrip Technology combines three-dimensional (3D) sipes in the shoulder and intermediate zones that lock together to improve dry and wet road handling while two-dimensional (2D) zigzag sipes in the center zone generate extra grip during acceleration and braking in slippery conditions and during dry braking. All Ultra Grip Performance 2 ROF tires meet the industry's severe snow service requirements and are branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol. Ultra Grip Performance 2 ROF tires feature winter wear indicators to identify when the remaining tread depth remains suitable to provide beneficial snow performance. Install Goodyear Ultra Grip Performance 2 ROF tires in sets of four only. Due to the traction capabilities of the Ultra Grip Performance 2 ROF tires, Goodyear recommends using Ultra Grip Performance 2 ROF tires only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.
