The CS5 Ultra Touring is Cooper's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans and crossovers looking to combine a smooth and quiet ride with responsive handling and cornering stability, in addition to confident traction in all weather conditions, even light snow.The CS5 Ultra Touring utilizes a Coupled Silica compound molded into an asymmetric pattern. Cooper's Stabiledge Performance reduces the flex inherent to independent tread blocks, interlocking the tread elements for handling responsiveness and high-speed cornering stability. The broad outboard shoulder blocks feature less void area for lateral traction, while the center ribs and inboard shoulder utilize higher sipe density and more open space to aid wet traction and hydroplaning resistance. Full-depth 3D Micro-Gauge siping throughout the footprint create the biting edges needed for grip in low-friction surfaces, such as light snow.Internal construction of the CS5 Ultra Touring consists of a high-turnup, single ply polyester casing beneath two high-strength, steel belts. A spirally wound, nylon reinforcement increases handling responsiveness and aids high-speed durability.
